Shadows under my eyes

Eyes that look hollow and tired are a very common concern and unfortunately no amount of sleep or eye creams can fix this. The tear trough is the area between your lower eyelid and cheek and as we age we lose volume (our under eye fat shrinks) which can cause dark circles and hollows under the eyes. Tear Trough Filler is a quick and very effective treatment to instantly improve this concern.

Our Expertise

Under-eye filler is a specialist procedure that must be approached carefully. At Story we favour a ‘no needle’ treatment, instead using small tubes called cannulas, a safer and more comfortable technique that dramatically reduces your risk of bruising.

Under-eye problems include shadows, eye bags, puffiness, dark circles, pigmentation and wrinkles. At your consultation, one of our doctors will carefully examine the structure of your eye area to determine the cause of your concern and will recommend the best treatment for you. In some cases, skin tightening or cheek filler volumisation is the best initial treatment to improve the under-eye area.

If tear trough filler is the most appropriate treatment for you, then we will perform an undetectable ‘less is more’ technique. All too often we see overfilled tear troughs that create a bulging and unnatural appearance to the under-eye. Our doctors have the expertise to ensure that you get the best results in this delicate area.

FAQs

Below are some of the frequently asked questions people ask regarding this treatment.
If you can’t find the answer, please don’t hesitate to get in touch and one of our advisors can help.

You will notice a difference immediately but the filler will be at its best 4 weeks after treatment.

Our practitioners will examine you and tell you whether you are suitable – if you can’t get to us then please send us some photos of your under eye area.

We choose specific fillers for specific treatment areas; in the tear trough we use a soft hyaluronic acid filler that swells less than fillers used elsewhere in the face.

This can help disguise mild lower eye bags but if the bags and puffiness is severe you may not be suitable for tear trough treatment – please ask our experts.

This treatment is surprisingly quick and comfortable. The filler that we use contains anaesthetic and the treatment is performed with a blunt tipped cannula rather than a needle and so the sensation is one of pressure rather than pain.
