STORY clinics skin hydration HYDRAFACIAL facial Southwell

Hydrated skin is the foundation for a healthy, radiant complexion. However, environmental aspects can negatively impact your skin’s hydration levels.

From Summer sun to air conditioning and central heating, seasonal changes can mean dry, dull, dehydrated skin.

This is where the STORY custom HydraFacial treatment comes in; lavishing your skin with bespoke hydration for instant results.

What causes dehydrated skin?

If your skin is looking dull and tired, maybe a bit dry, dehydration could be the culprit. Other signs include moisturising products absorbing rapidly and foundation looking patchy or uneven.

Dehydration is the result of water loss in the skin and may signal weakened skin barrier function. Supporting your skin barrier through solid skincare choices can help prevent this common issue of water loss.

You may notice it more as the seasons change. This can be because we start to expose ourselves to the moisture-stripping effects of artificial environments with air conditioning and central heating.

There are many year-round reasons for dehydrated skin, though. From stress and lack of sleep, to smoking and the old classic – not drinking enough water – here’s a quick cheat sheet on what causes dehydrated skin…

HOW A HYDRAFACIAL CAN HELP STORY SOUTHWELL STORY CLINICS SKINCARE FACIAL DEHYDRATED HYDRATING INSTANT GLOW NOTTINGHAM

What is a HydraFacial?

A HydraFacial is a skin hydrating facial that uses a painless, needle-free device to deeply cleanse and exfoliate your skin. Your skin is then drenched in a personalised cocktail of active ingredients, tailored to your specific needs.

When will I see results?

The HydraFacial gives immediate results. You should leave with radiant, hydrated skin that has a plumper, youthful bounce.

Does the HydraFacial involve injections?

No, injections! This is one of our no-needle skin treatments. It uses painless suction delivered using an award-winning vortex technology device.

Is this suitable as a lunchtime facial? Can I go back to work afterwards?

There is no downtime so, yes – absolutely. The standard HydraFacial appointment takes 60 minutes in total, including your consultation.

If you’d like to add on any additional treatments – such as a skin peel, dermaplaning, manual extractions or LED – you may need to treat yourself to a more leisurely lunch break.

We highly recommend going back to work afterwards though so you can show off your glow!

How long do HydraFacial results last?

You should continue to enjoy noticeably healthier, brighter, more hydrated skin for up to 4 weeks after your facial. Regular HydraFacials, every 4-6 weeks, offer these benefits, as well as less congested skin, on a longer term basis.
