We were asked: “I’d like to treat my forehead wrinkles before I get married but it’s important to me that I look natural in my wedding photos, especially when I smile – I don’t want a frozen face! Can you treat my forehead without it looking frozen?”
As Dr Marcus explains in the video above, it is absolutely possible to reduce forehead wrinkles and still retain movement in your upper face. The degree of movement is up to you – some people like to keep a fair amount of movement, others don’t want very little – we respect your personal choice on this.

If you are trying forehead wrinkle reduction injections for the first time, we recommend starting with a small dose. We can then review this in 2-3 weeks time and add more, if needed. This way we can build you up to your perfect results without any risk of over-treating you as these treatments cannot be undone. They need to be left to gradually wear off over time, so we want to make sure you don’t end up with the famous ‘frozen face’ if that isn’t what you were going for.
Usually, as results from forehead wrinkle reduction tend to become most noticeable at around the 4 week mark, we would recommend brides who have had anti-wrinkle injections before, schedule them – or your STORY Signature Treatment – for at least 5 weeks before their wedding. For those who are planning on having this type of treatment for the first time and may want to top-up their look, allow at least 8 weeks before.

Wrinkle reduction results and aftercare
Wrinkle reduction treatment results can last anywhere from 3-6 months and the timing varies from person to person.
When it comes to aftercare, all the information will be discussed with and made available to you during your consultation appointment. There are a few of things to be aware of, however.
- Whilst occasionally a small amount of bruising or redness may occur, this treatment generally has no downtime associated with it and any such signs should disappear quickly.
- We advise you to avoid applying makeup to the injection sites for 12 hours after your treatment to minimise any potential infection risks.
- Alcohol, strenuous exercise and facial massage should be avoided for 24 hours after your treatment to prevent facial flushing which can prevent your treatment from working to the best of its ability.
- Aspirin and ibuprofen should also be avoided for the first 24 hours as they may increase the risk of bruising.
